About us

Ioniqa is a scale-up specialized in circular processes for plastic materials and in 2019 launched an industrial process for PET packaging materials with other materials to follow soon. This new plant, located in Geleen, will be the basis (‘blueprint’) for its licensing strategy. Ioniqa has R&D labs and offices located in Eindhoven and a demo plant in the Port of Rotterdam, where successful tests have been performed together with leading value chain partners.

Overall Role:

Organise, direct and co-ordinate the QC team and QC labs.

Responsible for QC labs, equipment, standard procedures,
safety, staff, training and lab discipline. 
Role will be split between Eindhoven and Geleen.


Specific Responsibilities:  

  • Ensure smooth day-to-day running of QC labs.
  • Ensure a high-quality output of the QC labs.
  • Scheduling and organisation of QC team and work.
  • Guide and support QC team to develop their skills and
  • Work closely with the operational and R&D teams to
    ensure that they are receiving sufficient QC and analytical support.
  • Responsible for maintenance and regular checks of QC lab
  • Responsible for calibration and repair of QC lab equipment.
  • Review and maintain SOPs and laboratory rules. Ensure that
    these are followed.
  • Record keeping (e.g. of instrument maintenance and
  • Validating instruments and new methods, and producing
    validation reports.
  • Preparation of lab documents and certificates of analysis.
  • Provide training and
    safety instruction to new users of QC lab equipment, if necessary


Technical Skills:      


  • Minimum HBO (or BSc) working/thinking level and 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Significant experience in leading a QC team and running a QC lab.
  • Significant experience working with HPLC and GC (including maintenance, troubleshooting and setting up new methods).
  • Experience validating and troubleshooting analytical instruments.
  • Affinity for working with data, instrument software, LIMS, etc.


  • Experience working in a QC lab in a chemical plant environment.
  • Experience working with XRF, Karl Fischer, Colourimetry and/or UV-Vis.
  • Experience specifically with Agilent chromatography systems and Agilent software (ChemStation)

Non-Technical Skills:

  • Good verbal and written communication in Dutch and English.
  • Experience managing a team.
