Last week Ioniqa was visiting the UAE, where it was invited to various round table discussions with stakeholders from the plastic packaging value chain. Topics regarding minimizing plastic waste and optimizing recycling were discussed; e.g. regulatory, incentives for consumers and producers, investment climate and its recycling system. The week ended with a presentation at the Dutch Pavilion at Expo 2020, Dubai.
Expo 2020, Dubai under its theme of ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’ is about creating collaborations and showcasing opportunities regarding sustainability. It marks the biggest global event on this scale to be held since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Expos have always debuted life-changing ideas and ground breaking inventions; e.g. displaying the washing machine (1862), first type writer (1872), and the first live television broadcast (1939).
Ioniqa was very proud to present their upcycling technology and represent the Dutch innovative climate, as National Icon 2019. Enhanced recycling as developed by Ioniqa enables recycling of all kinds of PET waste into high quality RAW material; e.g. coloured PET, multi material and ocean plastic.
